Tomorrow is the day to celebrate Moms. Biological moms, adoptive moms, foster moms, step moms, mothers in law, and all those who fill the role of mom, including aunts, dads, and friends. How will you spend Mother’s Day tomorrow, and who will you be celebrating?
Tomorrow I will shed a tear as I think about my mom who has been gone for 37 years; I will call my 90 year old mother-in-law who is the same age my mom would be; I will call my sister and my aunt; I will send texts and emails to my many friends who have shared the journey of motherhood with me as we raised our kids together; I will enjoy these beautiful flowers sent by my son; and I will share a mimosa with my daughter over Zoom, keeping up a long time tradition.
And I will raise a glass to all moms that are doing the most amazing job of keeping their children fed, entertained, educated, clean, loved, and safe during these unique times. I am in awe of how hard moms (dads too, but your day is next month) today are working, and I offer you my thanks, my admiration, and my support.
And one day, your children will thank you too.
Sending my best wishes for a Happy Mother’s Day!
